FINMA Board of Directors appointed Mark Branson to manage the Banks division, thereby completing FINMA Executive Board. Mark Branson will assume his duties at FINMA as of 1 January 2010.
FINMA Board of Directors appointed Mark Branson to the Executive Board as Head of the Banks division. Mark Branson (40) is an outstanding manager with many years of international experience in finance and risk. He will considerably strengthen the supervisory activities and Executive Board of FINMA. FINMA's Executive Board is thus complete. Mark Branson will take up his position at FINMA in Berne on 1 January 2010.
Mark Branson was appointed CFO of UBS Wealth Management & Swiss Bank in 2008. As such, he was in charge of finance, risk control, compliance, strategy development and treasury management. He joined UBS in 1997, going on to hold various positions with the bank, including that of CEO of UBS Securities Japan Ltd and Chief Communications Officer as a of Member of the Group Managing Board. After successfully completing his studies in England, Mark Branson began his professional career at Coopers & Lybrand Management Consultancy in 1991 and transferred to Credit Suisse three years later.
