Banks division
The Banks division is responsible for the authorisation (licensing) and supervision of banks and securities firms. The Authorisation and Supervision sections are supported by specialist teams in the Integrated Risk Expertise division.
Banks and securities firms in Switzerland are authorised and supervised by the Banks division. Licensing requests and changes to licences are handled by the Authorisation section. If an institution is issued with a licence, it is subsequently supervised by the respective Supervision section. The Authorisation and Supervision sections are, where required, supported by specialists in the Integrated Risk Expertise division.
