Eugenio Brianti will step down from the Board of Directors of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA at the end of June 2013.

Eugenio Brianti has been a member of the FINMA Board of Directors since January 2011. Since he intends taking on additional duties at the BSI bank, he will resign from the FINMA Board of Directors on 30 June 2013. Anne Héritier Lachat, Chair of the FINMA Board of Directors expresses her gratitude for the commitment he has shown in the past few years: "Eugenio Brianti has contributed his considerable expertise and experience in financial market issues to the work performed by the Board of Directors. I would therefore like to thank him personally on behalf of FINMA and the other members of the Board of directors."

Following Eugenio Brianti's departure, the FINMA Board of Directors still has the requisite minimum number of seven board members, the maximum being nine. The Federal Council can decide whether it is necessary to appoint a successor.
